I had no idea.

Square nose?  Floppy ears?

In retrospect, I just didn’t know what a beagle was when I was a kid.

The commercials look great. Too bad my kids are older now. I need an excuse to go see this.

2. geoff - July 13, 2007

What was Sweet Polly Purebred?

3. Dave in Texas - July 13, 2007

Have to go see it and find out I guess.

I’m woefully behind on movie viewing… still haven’t seen LFoDH

From the trailer, I think she is a Cocker Spaniel.

sweet!

6. nicedeb - July 13, 2007

Underdog? Never heard of it.

Guess that was before my time.

*cough*

7. nicedeb - July 13, 2007

Hey Dave, thanks for socking it to Aaron, like you did.

8. daveintexas - July 13, 2007

Geoff had a pretty good conservatism/liberalism debate going on at JYB – except for the myopic who merely repeat assertions without even attempting to comprehend his post. Aaron was attempting to explain the virtues of Christianity without understanding what they are. Well, that’s too kind, he was attempting to relabel Christianity as socialism.

9. nicedeb - July 13, 2007

I know. You didn’t get the impression he was a Christian, himself? There are very liberal ones out there.

But those DID sound like empty talking points.

10. daveintexas - July 13, 2007

Not really, no. Yeah, I know there are lots of confused liberal Christians out there. Rush is right, a liberal is a liberal first, and everything else takes a back seat to it.

Major props to Geoff for more or less keeping his cool. That thread made me want to throttle some folks.

geoff has always been a pretty even tempered guy on the internets. I more or less succumb to rude mockery, although oddly it’s the first time I bothered to debate a topic in a long time.

I got the impression from those who used the words “America” and “your country” they were euros who have been sucking on the mommy/government tit their whole lives, so much so that their minds aren’t equipped to comprehend why we value things differently in the US, and most of us are naturally suspicious of government involvement in – damn near anything. If you’ve never experienced liberty, you have no frame of reference at all.

Speaking of Wally Cox…I jut can’t imagine Underdog without him.

I got the impression from those who used the words “America” and “your country” they were euros

..and Euros who were wed to the idea that the US has tremendous flaws. They were appalled at the notion that those flaws weren’t as large as they wanted them to be.

I’m wondering if they’ll have Underdog’s pill ring and if he’ll take the pills when he starts to lose steam.

I’m betting on not.

16. Dave in Texas - July 17, 2007

That’s probably a good bet V

Well, Snoopy was a beagle too, and I didn’t get the correlation there either.

At least hes voiced by the star of the only decent sitcom out there, ‘My Name Is Earl”s Jason Lee.
