Iraq is slowly becoming Vietnam.

And he asks the $64,000 question (adjusted for inflation),

The question immediately posed is: Do we feel responsibility for what happens in the period ahead? The Iraqi government resembles the government of South Vietnam in 1973-4 in that Baghdad is fighting, as Saigon fought, for a political system free of overweening foreign elements. But Saigon could not hold out in the long run without U.S. military support, and neither can Baghdad.

He makes the point about the future and whether we take our obligation seriously.  I pointed how the North Vietnamese were willing to wait us out.

Heck I didn’t even know Buckley read my blog.

He probably delegates it to some staffer.

Maybe if you but me on your blogroll, he could read MY blog, too.

And what is sad is that a few liberals are already starting to fine tune the following meme regarding any impending civil unrest should they regain total power and bail out:

“Don’t blame us. It’s Bush who caused it. We’re sorry, but that’s how it goes.”

I only know this because the liberal MSMers in St. Louis, hardly the most creative ones in the world, are already parroting this line. As a result, the meme is starting to percolate.

Oh I’ll just send him a link to the pool pic nicedeb. He won’t waste anytime starting here.

I’ve been meaning to ask you where you got that picture for your av? Is it a target? Or is that one of those German war medals?
