You shone like the sun.

Shine on you crazy diamond.

Peter Kara Stenback. February 18 1956 – March 21 1980.

Update: You ever write something that breaks your heart when you write it, cause it’s hard, and you think it makes perfectly good sense and nobody understands what you’re saying?  Kinda like, you remember, when Ron Burgundy was in the phone booth screaming about Baxter?

No?  Oh.

Well, I did.

Pete was a dear friend from my college days who lost his life in a plane crash in Houston in 1980.  This past Sunday would have been his 51st birthday.

Pink Floyd had some of the most innovative lighting of Any band. It still ranks way up there compared with modern groups.

Another band that just kicks ass in concert, visually and musically, is Peter Gabriel. Do yourself a favor and watch either one of their concert DVD’s.

The Award for Best use of a Triangle in a Rock Song goes to Peter Gabriel in Mercy Street.

I love “So.”

Sorry, I didn’t mean to make the reference so obscure. The linked article is the NTSB accident report about the plane crash which took Pete’s life.

Alright, call me stupid (opening for a comeback), but who in the hell was Pete Stenback?

And what does he have to do with Pink Floyd?

OT: If you want to see a best Pink Floyd video, pick up Pulse. It is a two DVD set with 4 hours of Pink Floyd in concert in 1994. It’s in Dolby 5.1 or DTS sound which was remastered by David Glimour, and visuals are second to none.

I got it for Christmas and it is by far the best concert DVD I have ever seen.
