Found this in my driveway this evening.
Forecast says no rain, so tomorrow we start digging a hole.
I can't believe they left this thing here for me to play with. I know how to start it. I could go for the coolest joyride evah tonight!
When I was 17 me and a buddy drove to a construction site, and figured out how to fire up a Caterpillar D8. That is a big damn bulldozer. We took it about 100 yards and then sanity overran the beer and said "this might be the stupidest thing you have ever done in your young stupid life…. and I remember the gunpowder incidents".
So we shut it down, and went home.
But we left it where we moved it. Our little "crop circle" joke.

oh HELL no… I am waiting for TXU friggin delivery to send their “we’re accountable to no one” tree trimming crew out here before we can do a darn thing.
They’ll show up, see my note that says “call me I can be here in 10 minutes, don’t open the gate cause I gotta deal with the dog” and they’ll pack up and leave so I can put in ANOTHER damn service order and wait another week.
Nobody, I mean nobody knows how to take care of a customer anymore.
Dave, that’s what college kids (even of the recently graduated variety) are for. It’s not like they have a life outside doing your every beck and call. And the neighbors’ beck and call, too.
*stalks away grumbling*

You can hire just about anybody (read this recent immigration/border security controversy issue) to cut your trees.
When it comes to power lines, they all wisely say, “uh, we can’t do that”.
That’s good for them They stay alive.
It’s also good for me. Their families do not sue me.
I’ll wait for the TXU boys to work on their easement. Another week and a hald ain’t gonna hairlip the governor.
No, I meant that the college kid could stay home waiting for the TXU guys to come. I’ve had to stay home waiting for plumbers, landscapers, lawn mowing guys, kitchen remodeling guys, etc., etc., mostly because Pepper had to be restrained from attacking them.
Yeah, I know. But Princess (sometimes she reads this stuff so yeah I’m pushin her button right now) doesn’t live with us in the summer now

Ok, I’m all right… she is a permenant resident away from home now.. plus she has a job through the summer so she’s unavailable to watch contractors.
However my rant inspired me to call TXU D and add a “must call” note to the work order, so we’ll see.
Moses would have to be restrained from loving them to death.
Oooooh. Tell me more about how dogs respond to work-people. Do they get excited? Anxious? Angry? Afraid? Do they attack? Keep bugging them to play with him/her?
Musli, it varies. Lady, a cocker spaniel we had to put to sleep a few years ago (melanoma), would have licked them, like Moses apparently would. Pepper, an Australian shepherd, would bark her head off and probably try to herd them back out of the yard. She might even bite them if they looked aggressive.
I was walking Pepper the other day, and a UPS truck went by. oooh, she hates the UPS guys. She wanted to go after that truck very badly, but I choked the shit out of her with the choke chain and then pinched her neck like the Dog Whisperer does, and she calmed down. Aussies are difficult to discipline because it’s almost impossible to cause them physical pain. That kind of dog can take a skull-kick from a cow and hop right back up for more herding.
Gypsy, another Aussie we once had, would have stood next to them panting and grinning. Then they would have thrown something for her to fetch and she would have watched it go and continued to grin like an idiot. She never quite got the concept of fetch.
He gets anxious, mostly cause he wants to go check them out – new people make him kinda crazy – mostly cause he’s still a puppy.
If someone approaches house or makes a noise outside he will howl like crazy. It would be very difficult to break in to my home quietly.
He would just jump up on them and stuff, begging for attention. I’ve never seen him get angry at a person.

Muslihoon, shhh. don’t tell anyone, but I do like this little guy. He’s a very sweet dog.
