UPDATE: Found this live Youtube video of a live performance at the Meadowlands around ’79. It’s a little rough, but it shows Brad and the band playin Smokin’ and having a damn good time with it. Not a bad way to remember him.
*click on it again past the “owner doesn’t allow embedded” message, and you’ll see it in another winder.
Another man with a non-human voice.
Cause of death unknown.
Brad could belt out some incredible vocals. His ultra-tenor voice was monster on all of their first three albums (spanning two decades but ok that’s nitpicky of me).
All seriousness aside, he was a great vocalist, and I’m sorry he’s gone.
Requiescat in pacem Brad.
Thanks for posting this. I’m going to listen to Foreplay/Long Time now just for the memories.
There’s something about a good Lead Singer’s voice that’s Undefinable. You know it when you hear it.
That band has a pretty interesting (strange) history. Scholz had (I think) a well-deserved beef with the other guys, but I think he remained on good terms with Delp.

Delp had an incredible voice. Inspirational. Feelin Satisfied has to be my favorite song of all time. RIP, man.
