Warren Buffett commits the bulk of his wealth to the Gates Foundation June 25, 2006

Didn't see that coming.

Actually it's not a huge surprise.  Gates has been on the BH board for a while, and Mr. Buffett has been quite impressed with the foundation's work. 

You gotta do something with it when you leave.  Last time I checked you still can't take it with you.

Good for Mr. Buffett. His actions highlight the difference between those who endlessly talk about others doing something and those who actually do something.

Unfortunately, these foundations often get infested with lefties, and then ultimately perverted into supporting ultra-lefty people and causes.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn’t choose this particular foundation. But iit’s his damn money. He can do whatever he wants to with it.

True. He could buy his own chain of islands and paint them purple if he wished. Maybe the donation to the Gates foundation is a better choice. Or maybe not.

I’d donate mine to my church or to the Salvation Army.

Or begin to build my world-conquering robot army.
